Lawton, OK – The City of Lawton Engineering Department has received the Gold Award for Excellence in Concrete Pavement from the Oklahoma/Arkansas Chapter of the American Concrete Pavement Association for the Gore Boulevard Rehabilitation Project, spanning SW 67th Street to SW 82nd Street.
The award, the highest honor in the program, recognizes Large Municipal Projects that showcase superior workmanship and high-quality concrete pavement construction.
The Gore Boulevard project was selected from multiple projects across Oklahoma and Arkansas for its overall quality, durability, and craftsmanship.
This achievement continues a legacy of award-winning projects by the city, including the Rogers Lane Project in 1997, Flowermound Road in 2006, and SE 45th Street in 2019.
The Rogers Lane Project, which earned a Silver Award, was recently highlighted again for its nearly three decades of minimal maintenance, demonstrating the long-term value of quality concrete construction.
Officials said the recognition underscores the city’s commitment to excellence in infrastructure and the lasting impact of well-executed public works projects.
