Lawton begins major upgrades at Mocine Park with new playground equipment and safety improvements

Lawton, OK – The City of Lawton announced this week that Mocine Park is undergoing a major upgrade as part of its ongoing efforts to improve recreational spaces.

Crews have removed the old playground equipment and are preparing to install new, modern play structures that meet current state safety standards.

The project joins recent improvements at Prairie Park, Willow Creek Park, Greer Park, and several other city parks, reflecting Lawton’s commitment to creating safe, fun, and engaging spaces for children and families.

Construction at Mocine Park is being completed by Play & Park Structures, with work expected to finish by the end of the year or early 2026.

The project is funded through the 2040 Capital Improvement Plan, supporting the City’s continued investment in high-quality recreational facilities.
