Lawton, OK – The City of Lawton has been awarded a $500,000 Safe Streets for All Planning Grant to support a comprehensive, data-driven review of roadway safety throughout the city.
City officials said the grant will fund a citywide safety study and the development of a plan aimed at identifying higher-risk areas and recommending improvements for drivers, pedestrians, and cyclists.
The effort is also expected to position Lawton to pursue additional funding for future safety upgrades.
Officials described the grant as an important step toward improving traffic safety and supporting smarter, long-term transportation planning for the city.
