Oklahoma – U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. partnered with Governor Kevin Stitt for a day of events in Oklahoma City, officially launching the Make Oklahoma Healthy Again (MOHA) campaign. This initiative serves as Oklahoma’s state-level extension of the national Make America Healthy Again movement, led by President Donald Trump and Secretary Kennedy.
During a rally at the Oklahoma State Capitol, Governor Stitt signed Executive Order 2025-13, which directs a comprehensive statewide review of public health policies. The review will cover areas such as water fluoridation and artificial food dyes. The order also establishes the MOHA Advisory Council and calls for state agencies to promote clean living, increase access to community wellness programs, and educate residents on reducing exposure to harmful chemicals found in food, water, and everyday products.
Highlighting a significant policy move, Governor Stitt announced that Oklahoma has formally submitted a federal waiver to prohibit the purchase of soda and candy with SNAP-EBT benefits, reflecting bipartisan concern over processed food consumption’s role in chronic illnesses.
Secretary Kennedy praised Governor Stitt’s leadership, noting the state’s efforts to bring healthier food options to public schools and prisons, eliminate fluoride from drinking water, and pursue restrictions on unhealthy foods through SNAP.
Earlier in the day, Secretary Kennedy and Governor Stitt appeared together on The Faulkner Focus to discuss their shared vision for promoting health, liberty, and personal responsibility across American communities.
The visit also included a tour of Governor Stitt’s family ranch and garden, highlighting their shared belief in the benefits of growing fresh food and reducing reliance on processed products. The pair additionally toured Mom’s Meals, an Oklahoma City kitchen facility that prepares nutritious, medically tailored meals for individuals with chronic health conditions.
The Make Oklahoma Healthy Again campaign underscores a commitment to improving public health through common-sense policies and community engagement.
