Lawton, OK – The City of Lawton is preparing for a major infrastructure overhaul in 2025 with the launch of the “105 in ’25” project. This ambitious initiative aims to address road deterioration and enhance the city’s infrastructure by rehabilitating 105 streets, benefitting residents and businesses alike.
Taking on 105 projects in one year is no small task. While most of the streets will not undergo full reconstruction, which involves completely removing and rebuilding the road, the majority will receive a mill and overlay. This process involves removing one to four inches of the old pavement and applying a new overlay, which extends the road’s lifespan while reducing disruptions to daily traffic. Some roads will require more intensive work than just resurfacing, though none will undergo a complete end-to-end reconstruction.
In addition to the “105 in ’25” streets, other areas such as 38th Street between Gore and Lee are also scheduled for rehabilitation, with improvements starting soon.
Investing in these road improvements today ensures a more reliable infrastructure for the future. These upgrades will improve driving conditions, enhance safety, and support local businesses, ultimately strengthening the entire community. The “105 in ’25” initiative is not just a project; it’s a step toward a brighter, more sustainable future for Lawton.
