Lawton, OK – Lawton officials highlighted major accomplishments from the past year while outlining plans for future development during the city’s 2026 State of the City address.
Hosted by Mayor Stan Booker, this year’s presentation, titled “Brick by Brick,” focused on projects completed throughout 2026 and the long-term vision for the community.
According to the City of Lawton, the address examined investments in infrastructure, quality-of-life initiatives and new opportunities designed to support residents and strengthen the local economy.
City officials said the theme reflected the steady approach taken toward development over the past year, with each project representing another step in building a stronger community.
However, the message delivered during the address focused not only on what had already been accomplished, but also on what residents can expect in the coming year.
Mayor Booker described 2027 as the “Year of Transformation,” saying many of the projects that have been under development are expected to begin taking shape.
The city noted that work completed in 2026 laid the foundation for several initiatives that are scheduled to move forward during the next phase of development.
Lawton has continued investing in infrastructure improvements in recent years while also focusing on economic development, public safety and recreational opportunities.
The annual State of the City address serves as an opportunity for city leaders to review progress, provide updates on ongoing projects and share priorities for the coming year.
Officials thanked residents, community leaders and local organizations that participated in this year’s event.
The city also encouraged residents who were unable to attend the address to visit the State of the City webpage, where they can watch or listen to Mayor Booker’s presentation and review fiscal year 2026 reports and documents from city departments.
City leaders said the projects completed over the past year represent only the beginning of a broader effort to continue improving Lawton and creating new opportunities for residents in the years ahead.
