Fort Smith, Ark. – A group of Fort Sill volunteers helped protect Lawton’s waterways after removing approximately 175 pounds of litter from Numu Creek at Mattie Beal Park.
Members of Class 007-27 NCOA 13M SLC took part in the stream cleanup effort despite temperatures reaching 104 degrees. The volunteers worked together to collect debris and help keep the park and surrounding waterways clean.
The City of Lawton thanked the Fort Sill group for their efforts and for helping maintain the community’s natural spaces.
