Lawton, OK – The Lawton Police Department, alongside the Lawton Fire Department and the Comanche Nation Police Department, took part in the annual Special Olympics Torch Run.
Participants ran just over three miles, carrying the torch from the Lawton Public Safety Facility to MacArthur High School as part of the event.
Officials said the torch run continues to grow each year, reflecting strong community involvement and support for the Special Olympics.
The event brought together first responders and community members in a shared effort to support the cause.
The department expressed appreciation for the men and women who serve the community and contribute their time to the event, as well as those who participated and showed their support.
Organizers noted that community involvement plays an important role in making the event a success and helping raise awareness for the Special Olympics.
