Lawton, OK – The Lawton Fire Department and Lawton Police Department were recognized this week for their efforts during the 2025 Salvation Army bell ringing campaign. The two departments competed in the annual “Guns and Hoses” challenge, raising funds to support local families in need.
This year, the Fire Department raised more donations than their Police Department counterparts, securing the overall win. Officials from both departments emphasized that the true beneficiaries of the campaign were the community members served by the Salvation Army.
Representatives from the Salvation Army praised the departments for their commitment and community spirit. Both departments expressed gratitude to local residents for their generous contributions and encouraged continued support in future campaigns.
The “Guns and Hoses” event has become a local tradition, highlighting the friendly rivalry between first responders while raising important funds for those in need. Both departments said they look forward to next year’s competition.
