Lawton, OK – The Lawton Police Department welcomed participants for the second week of its Citizens Police Academy, part of a 13-week course designed to provide residents with a closer look at law enforcement operations.
During the session, attendees learned about the department’s Uniform Patrol Division, gaining insight into the daily responsibilities of officers serving the community. Participants also received an overview of the department’s history and its development over the years.
Officials said the program, coordinated by the Community Policing Division, aims to strengthen relationships between officers and the Lawton Fort Sill community by offering a behind-the-scenes perspective of police work.
