Arizona – An Arizona man was arrested and booked on charges of attempted kldnapping and aggravated assauIt after an alleged incident in Arizona in which a chiId, 11, was attacked while walking home from schooI.

Arizona authorities say they were called to the area about 15 minutes after the school day ended, when the child was walking home. Officers learned that a man, later identified as 34-year-old Cristopher, approached the chiId, grabbed her arm and tried to pull her away. The girl managed to break free and run, and the suspect fled the scene before officers arrived.

Investigators identified the defendant as a suspect after reviewing reports, witness accounts and other evidence gathered at the scene. Arizona authorities released information and a photo asking for the public’s help in locating the man, and police ultimately took him into custody several days later. He was arrested without incident and transported to the county jail.

Following his arrest, the defendant was interviewed by detectives and admitted his involvement in the incident, according to police. Court documents and news reports say he told officers he grabbed the chiId’s arm and attempted to place money in her hand in an effort to attract her, and that he had se-ual fantasies about her. He reportedly told investigators he would have tried to kiss the 11-year-old if she had not escaped. He also acknowledged prior convictions for se*-related offenses, and in at least one report he told police he “would do it again.”

Witnesses in the neighborhood and school community cooperated with police by describing the suspect and the direction he fled. Arizona authorities used that information, along with tips from the public, to narrow down the suspect’s identity and location. Officials say the child’s quick action and ability to break free were key to preventing a worse outcome, and investigators praised the girl for acting to escape.

Police records show the initial 911 calls and on-scene interviews were collected as part of the evidence packet. Investigators documented the girl’s account, statements from any nearby witnesses and any available video or surveillance in the area. After the defendant was arrested, detectives completed a post-arrest interview in which he made several admissions that law enforcement included in their probable cause and booking paperwork. Those admissions form a central part of the prosecution’s case.

He has been booked on one count of attempted kidnapping and one count of aggravated assault; those charges were listed on booking records and reported by multiple local outlets. He remained in custody pending further court proceedings. Prosecutors will review the investigation, witness statements and his own admissions when deciding how to proceed on formal charging or any additional counts.

Arizona authorities urged anyone with additional information, video, or details about the suspect’s movements before and after the incident to contact the department. Officials also emphasized community awareness and encouraged parents to remind children about safe routes and how to react if approached by a stranger. The investigation remains active, and Arizona authorities say they will continue to gather and review evidence as the case moves forward.
