Oklahoma – The Oklahoma Highway Patrol announced the retirement of Trooper Keith Teel #792 after 27 years of service to the state.
Trooper Teel joined the 50th Oklahoma Highway Patrol Academy in January 1998. His first assignment was with Troop E in Coal County before transferring to Pontotoc County in 2001, where he served for 23 years. In 2024, he moved to the Oklahoma First Responder Wellness Division, where he worked until his retirement.
Throughout his career, Trooper Teel was part of the OHP Dive Team, served as a Law Enforcement Driving Instructor, Field Training Trooper, Radar Instructor, Wrecker Inspector, and Drug Recognition Expert. He received numerous Troop Commander awards for drug and impaired driving arrests and earned the prestigious Ace Award twice while serving in Pontotoc County.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Trooper Teel has been deeply involved in his community. A longtime Stonewall resident, he and his wife Brenda have raised two sons. Lane Teel is currently a trooper in Pontotoc County, while Levi Teel has served as a deputy sheriff and now works as a firefighter and EMT. Trooper Teel is also a member of Trinity Baptist Church, a volunteer firefighter, and a board member of the Union Valley Fire Department.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol extended its gratitude for his dedication and service and wished him the best in retirement.
