Lawton, OK – According to the city officials, the newest member, Sherene Williams, was sworn in as the Ward 7 Councilmember, succeeding Onreka Johnson.
A Lawton native, Councilwoman Williams is looking forward to “Building Up Our Community Together”, a cornerstone initiative in her campaign for the seat.
Councilwoman Williams says she is looking forward to focusing on the youth in the community, specifically children aged 5-8 years old.
Recognizing the Ten Wins for the Citizens Project already underway, Councilwoman Williams said she is looking forward to pushing for a reconstruction of main arterial streets in her ward. Those include Sheridan Road from Lee Boulevard to SW Bishop Road and 38th Street from Lee Boulevard to SW Bishop Road.
