Oklahoma County, Okla. — A 72-year-old man tragically lost his life on Friday night after his ATV flipped into a pond, pinning him underneath the water. The incident occurred around 7:30 p.m. near North Westminster Road and Waterloo Road.
Authorities report that the man was driving his all-terrain vehicle while feeding sheep when he unexpectedly veered too close to the edge of a pond. As a result, the ATV overturned, and the man became trapped beneath it in the water.
Emergency crews quickly responded to the scene and were able to transport the man to a local hospital. However, despite their efforts, he later succumbed to his injuries.
The Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to investigate the cause of the accident. This tragic event serves as a reminder of the dangers of operating vehicles near water and the importance of taking safety precautions in such environments.
