Oklahoma – The Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP), in partnership with the Lawton Police Department and Comanche County Sheriff’s Office, carried out a seatbelt saturation enforcement from sunrise to sunset yesterday as part of the national Click It or Ticket campaign.
During the operation, several drivers who were not wearing seatbelts were stopped and subsequently arrested on various other charges.
These included outstanding warrants, illegal drug possession, driving under the influence (DUI), and child endangerment due to DUI while transporting an unbuckled child.
Authorities emphasized that buckling up remains one of the simplest and most effective ways to protect lives on the road.
“Seat belts save lives,” said OHP officials, urging all drivers and passengers to make the safe choice every time they get behind the wheel.
