Lawton, OK – The Lawton Police Department offered a behind-the-scenes look at one of its current police academy classes as recruits enter the final stretch of their training. The class is currently completing its three-week defensive tactics block and is on track to graduate later this month.
The defensive tactics portion of the academy focuses on preparing recruits with critical skills in physical control, self-defense, and officer safety — key components of their readiness for the field.
“This group has shown dedication and determination throughout their training,” the department shared in a social media update. “They’re almost there.”
