Lawton, OK – The Lawton Police Department has officially welcomed Academy Class 2026-24, marking the start of a new training cycle for future officers.
The class began training on February 3 and will undergo a 23-week police academy program designed to challenge cadets both mentally and physically.
Department officials said the academy curriculum is structured to prepare recruits for the demands of law enforcement and to ensure they graduate as highly trained officers.
Upon completion of the academy, cadets are expected to serve the Lawton Fort Sill community as sworn police officers. The department stated it looks forward to following the class throughout their training and development.
