Lawton, OK – The City of Lawton, Oklahoma recently held a groundbreaking ceremony for The Plex at the Lawton Fort Sill Sports Park, drawing a large crowd of community members and youth athletes.
City officials said the event highlighted years of work by the Lawton Youth Sports Trust Authority to bring the project to life. Many young athletes from Play Lawton teams attended the ceremony, proudly representing their sports and adding energy and excitement to the milestone event.
Officials noted that the facility is expected to play a major role in supporting youth athletics and creating new opportunities for the next generation of athletes in the region.
Several organizations were recognized for their support of the project, including Eastern Sports Management, The McMahon Foundation, Lawton Public Schools, and The Boldt Company.
City leaders said The Plex represents an important step in the community’s efforts to strengthen youth sports programs and position Lawton Fort Sill as a regional destination for athletic events and activities.
