Lawton, OK – The City of Lawton announced it is accepting applications to fill the Ward 1 City Council seat after the official resignation of Mary Ann Hankins-Booker. City officials confirmed the resignation took place during a meeting Monday night.
Applications for the vacant seat must be submitted by Friday, Sept. 5, at 5 p.m. Interested residents can apply in person at the City Clerk’s Office or download the application form from the city’s website.
City officials also reminded the public that applications for the Ward 2 vacancy remain open until Aug. 25. Details and application forms for both positions are available online.
The appointments will allow the city to fill both council positions and ensure continued representation for residents in Wards 1 and 2.
