Oklahoma – The Oklahoma Highway Patrol announced that members of its 74th Academy class have officially received their patrol vehicles as they prepare to begin service across the state.
According to the agency, while the vehicles are not brand new, receiving a first patrol unit is a milestone moment for every trooper. The patrol said it marks the transition from training to active duty on Oklahoma roadways.
Among the new troopers is Slade Williams, Trooper #735, who was assigned a Chevrolet Tahoe Police Pursuit Vehicle. The agency highlighted the moment as a memorable step early in his law enforcement career.
Oklahoma Highway Patrol officials congratulated the academy class and expressed appreciation for their commitment to public safety, noting that each patrol unit represents many future miles dedicated to service and protection on Oklahoma highways.
