LAWTON, Okla. – The Lawton Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred on the 1700 block of NW Kingsbury on Saturday, January 18. Authorities responded to a call about the incident and found 37-year-old Damon Jones suffering from gunshot wounds.
Jones was immediately transported to a local hospital for medical treatment. Unfortunately, despite efforts to save him, he later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
The Lawton Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division is currently handling the case and is urging the public to come forward with any information that could assist in the investigation. Detectives are particularly interested in hearing from anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has details related to the shooting.
“We are committed to finding answers in this case and encourage anyone with information to help us during this difficult time,” a police spokesperson said.
The department also expressed condolences to the family and loved ones of Damon Jones, acknowledging the pain and grief they are enduring.
